What are some impacts on the environment for nail polish remover?

What are some impacts on the environment for nail polish remover?

What are some safe ways to use it? What are some impacts on the environment for nail polish remover?
Sad how no one's answered so far...

I'm no scientist, but just look at what nail polish remover can do. Nail polish is basically glued to your nail, and with a little gentle rubbing... it's gone. There have to be some SERIOUS chemicals in a remover to let it do so.

That being said, take a look at all the other problems in our environment. Nail polish remover is seldom used in comparison to other products, facilities, factories... toxins galore.

What nail polish colors look good on super short nails with fair skin?

light/ lighter hot pink. You want lighter colors, because first of all your skin is fair, and secondly you have super short nails. You don't want a really dark color because that will make your hands look paler, and will show how short your nails are. And I'm sure you'd rather give the appearence of slightly longer nails. What nail polish colors look good on super short nails with fair skin?
i think a bright lime green a bright pink or bright orange or white!

my friend has nails like yours and those colors look good on her nails!

also it looks good if you mix them! paint one finger orange one pink one lime green one black and one white!

trust me it looks really good! :)What nail polish colors look good on super short nails with fair skin?
i have short nails too, and when i paint mine i like to do colors that really pop like hot pink, purple, deep blue ect.
you can't go wrong with bright pink
Darker colors can make your nails look shorter if they're already short. But they do pop really nicely against paler skin.
anything pearly, metallic sometimes, pinks, translucent whites etc, sometimes black
deep red. nude pink and usually core colors like green and blue.
I like women that aren't afraid to show colors.
black

or purple

What color nail polish should I use with a black and silver dress?

I don't want it to look too fancy. What color nail polish should I use with a black and silver dress?
I would use silver polish with a couple of black dots in keeping with your dress. What color nail polish should I use with a black and silver dress?
i would do balck w/ silver tips
french manicure or silver sparklies
If you don't want it to look too fancy, you can always stick with clear but if you want color, use one that looks somewhat natural - silver or black isnt' but many colors go well with both. Choose a color that pleases your eye and you won't have a problem.
black or a french manicure

Do your nails yourself. Don't waste the money. Its cheap and you will most likely get them done the way you want them to be. You can do black tips on your own it's very simple.
Do something weird and crazy as hell, like 10 different colored stripes, or just different colored dots all over the nail so it looks tiedye--ish. I dunno. Nails are fun, don't be boring.
That sounds cool.

Maybe paint them white and get a bright color for the tip, such as orange or neon green. I think thats really cool-looking.

=)
I thinkz yew shud drop owt of skewl cuz itz oviouzly nawt teachin yew anythingz and yew soundz like a retard.

Is it okay to paint your phone with nail polish?

I eard some people do it, but will it damage the phone?

Not on the keys or screen or anything, just the outside. Is it okay to paint your phone with nail polish?
i've tried it... yes it will damage the phone... they do not dry quick and it will look all bumpy... it will always smell like nail polish... if you mess up, do not use nail polish remover to take it off, your phone's original color will fade... just buy a cell phone case if u want a new color or if you want to cover up a bad spot

So is nail polish remover really guaranteed to remove permanent marker?

Not something I keep around the house usually and it would be a shame to blow cash on something that didn't work.So is nail polish remover really guaranteed to remove permanent marker?
just make sure you get nail polish remover that is ';100% pure acetone'; that one should workSo is nail polish remover really guaranteed to remove permanent marker?
yeah nail varnish remover works, or like alcohol wipes or gel you can get also works!
No try wd40
Ask a woman you know to borrow some. But if you haven't already checked, its pretty inexpensive.
You can but try..
I dont know about nail polish remover.. but a much less SMELLY way is to use a Mr Clean Magic Eraser.. my daughter fdrew on my coffee table with permanant marker and the magic eraser got it right off without ruining the surface.
little dab of celluose paint thinners ( guaranteed )
I don't know about that. I do know that acetone polish remover eats the finish off of wood furniture.

My stepdaughter drew on the walls with a Sharpie (permanent marker) and we used one of those erasers from Mr. Clean. It worked great and we didn't even have to paint the wall! :)

Good luck! :)
a MAGIC ERASER from mr.clean will work, not only on that but a hundred other different things also, every home should have some.....
just buy some, it's so cheap. Let us know if it works or not
Before you try nail polish remover try drawing over a very small area with the marker i work in a furniture shop and have used this method before when you rub the wet ink off the ink underneath comes off too. I`m not sure how it works but it does, on polished furniture and laminated surfaces anyway! If you have it on your clothes i`m not sure what you can do.
try non-aerosol hair spray. Spray the marked area, let it sit then blot or scrub off.
most of these cleaners, they say will work on most things

do, but only if you try to clean them right away. leave the stain for

awhile and 99% don't work. on TV they show them putting all kinds of stains on some thing and then they wipe it off.
No, try Purell. It's a hand sanitizer. Saturate the marker stain and blot with a paper towel, repeat, the stains will fade more each time until it disappears.

P.S. Any of those 99.99% Antibacterial Hand Sanitizers will do the trick!
Methylated Spirits Remove ink, permanent marker,%26amp; grass stain麓s
Acetone is sold in hardware stores in man size containers that you do not have to be ashamed to buy or have around the house.
ok gogeous bald guy, i got the perfect answer, just like you dont keep nail polish remover around the house, dont keep permanent markers around the house... problem solved. he he xx

  • Why do people assume when you wear black nail polish your emo or goth?

Why do people assume when you wear black nail polish your emo or goth?

I love to wear black nail polish, but everyone calls me goth/emo when i do. It kind of pisses me off, cause im the farthest thing from emo or goth. Why do people assume when you wear black nail polish your emo or goth?
only ignorant people think that...chanel has a shade, it can be high fashion. Why do people assume when you wear black nail polish your emo or goth?
black nail polish is gothic style.

atleast you dont do it because you like it, and not because you think its high fashion to be a poser goth.

Because people are stereotypical morons. They see one person wearing all black and assume they're goth. They see someone wearing tight jeans and Converse and assume they're emo. People are too judgmental. I think stereotypes are stupid because someone isn't ALWAYS going to act goth or emo or whatever, even if they do sometimes. People are just too close-minded. They see one person doing it and assume that everyone that does it is either a copycat or exactly the same.
The majority of the world's population (which is primarily stupid) like to make asinine assumptions and stereotype things because they're ignorant and want to remain that way (which pisses me off) or they just want to have fun and annoy you (which also pisses me off). Best thing to do is to just ignore them. After all, I'm a Goth, and I'm wearing purple nail polish right now. :P
oh darn that reminds me i got to go buy some more black nail polish i lost mine :(

i just ignore it plus black nail polish looks soo cool (black nail polish looks alot better than hot pink nails lol!) i jsust bought some nail art pends from kroger you can get white nail pens and make designs on your nail!. they work really well alomost as a marker but better! and they dont splatter everywhere like other ones!
Because I bet your friends are also far from there, so they just say that. Like the tiniest thing for a prep can make them say ';ooo thats so emo'; The whole label thing is so ridiculous cause no one fits into one way. Plus things like nails, hair, and pants should not be considered ';emo'; or anything like that. It's stupid. And everyone wheres black nail polish so that's weird they said that. Just ignore it..
lmao, me to.. i dont rlly love the color black, but i lovee black nail polish!. lol. and all my friends will be like.. '; ew, dso ur emo/goth now?!'; or ';AHH SHE';S TURNING EMOO!'; and im like ';uhm, stfu. im not emo, i like the collor black..'; lol. it does get annoying. i guess its because emo/goth people are into dark stuff. like black mainly. and when u wear it, they assume ur becomeing like that. or, they might just love to bother u because they know when they call u emo/goth it annoyes the shiit out of u!.
Well, show them that you aren't emo or goth bye wearing some light blues or greens or pinks on your clothes or so. and tell them that just because u like the color black, does not mean you are goth or emo. Plus, they proboly have something black on too. Remind them about that.
Maybe it's the scars,or the fake black hair color, could it be your multiple piercings,or ,hah, maybe that scornful mean spirited sad attitude you carry. Possibly the too tight dark clothing or I know your blatant cry for attention and recognition IDK you decide.
    thats like saying..

all mexicans hopped the border to the U.S.

    or..

black nba stars are better than white nba stars.

well 2nd one %26gt;%26gt;tru (my opinion.)

but stereotyping sucks. deal with it. or dont wear black nail polish.

and uhm,, its you're not your.

    gosh get it rite ppl.
Man I hate that. I am wearing Black nail Polish right now and my mom is saying i'm EMO. It's because they are stupid and stereotype that color as A EMO OR GOTH OR PUNK COLOR/LOOK. stupid i know. P.s I am not EMO or GOTH or PUNK.
They judge far too easily. Black is a great color and goes with everyone. Black nail polish is so versatile and I love it. Just slap them around a bit, those sunzabeetches.
Well im a ';prep'; and i wear it and im wearing some right now also i put sparkles over it =) I think it looks cool tonz of people do it including the most awsome person in the world ADAM LAMBERT %26lt;3
people get ';black'; and ';midnight'; mixed up. certain colors always present problems:

    pink is girly

    red is sexy

black is... you guessed it. goth/emo

Try poka dot and see what happens
Well no i dont exactly believe that becuase i wear black nail pollish and i'm not any of those actually i dont think you should care what people label you as. you are you thats all that matters!:)
They are Stereo typing you. Because Goth and emo's don't all wear black nail polish like the other idiots in here posted. Goths and emo's wear all colors, red, green, hot pink ect.
It is just a sterotype. In fact, it is in now. People that have fashion taste are wearing black nail polish. I even saw preppy ppl wear black nail polish/ on their toes too. You're fine!
same here, im a total hollister gurl but i always have black nail polish on my nails since its the only color i ever wear %26amp; people say im gothic/emo....just ignore those ppl that are so ignorant and stereotypical...
Because there stupid. They have no style and they have nothing better to do than to just label people.
i wear it and i'm not an emo or goth. loads of my friends do! i think it's it's just childish - labels in general!
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
that's the fashion. if you wore an cardigan tied around your neck you'd be preppy. no big deal, wear what you like, but you are emo
cause the stereotype of black being dark and depressing. most people judge to fast, so that's why
because people are stereotyping idiots that we have to deal with and we are unknowingly doing it ourselves
because people are incredibly stereotypical. don't worry about them. :)
    Don't wear black nail polish
some people just can't get by stereotypes
Really depends on how you're dressed
Because they dont know what it means
    They are stupid and judgmental
    Why do you care?
first off it's you're not your, and second, stereotypes.

What makes nail polish to create bubbles after applying?

I always want my polish on my fingernails to be smooth and even. But there are times when there are hardened gas bubbles or blisters (or whatever you may call them) on it after applying. Is that because of too much polish, or is it because of the heat or expiration? And how can I prevent them? What makes nail polish to create bubbles after applying?
This will usually occur when you have applied a layer over another without the first one drying enough. The trick is patience, apply a first single coat thinly, allow to to dry completely and then apply a second coat and you should have no more bubbles. What makes nail polish to create bubbles after applying?
Caused by to many coats applied without allowing each coat to thoroghly dry. Adding a dryer expedites the process.
Do you shake the polish before applying? that may be the problem
I was told by a manicurist that it was caused by shaking the bottle too much also. The best way to make sure it is mixed correctly is by rolling it between your hands, and then letting it sit for a minute or two while you soak, etc.
I always roll the bottle between my hands for a couple minutes and it prevents those bubbles. I don't shake it because it can sometimes actually make bubbles.
its a combination of too much polish and you touching things beofre your nails are dry.
The reason for the bubbles is you are applying the polish too thick or you are applying layer after layer and it doesn't have time to dry. SOLUTION: Polish your nails in thin layers, at least 1-2 in between the other, so that all nails dry evenly. Apply clear nail polish, and voila!
it is often because the polish is not blended very well. make sure to shake the bottle a good bit (there is usually a little ball in the bottle...shake it until the polish is thick enough to barely hear the ball rattle.

it could also be that the polish is kind of cheap/old.
I was told by the gal who did my nails that the bubble are caused by shaking the bottle too much.
I read the answer to this in ';Deep Thoughts';, by Jack Handy, but it escapes me now.

Why are there tiny bubbles on the nail polish on my nails after I paint them?

I put a base coat on and a coat on, waited for it to dry, and put another one on. After they've completely dried, i put a top coat on them and then later, they for these tiny bubbles. help! Why are there tiny bubbles on the nail polish on my nails after I paint them?
those are called air bubbles. you wont have this problem if you bought expensive nail polish. stay away from the cheap nail polishWhy are there tiny bubbles on the nail polish on my nails after I paint them?
    I think they're airbubbles

But to get rid of them, roll the bottle of polish between your palms for a few seconds before applying the polish. Don't ask me why this works, I can't remember, but it does.
they're probably air bubbles. try not to sit near a fan or window when doing ur nails.

yea those colors are good and also sally hansen has a french manicure kitWhat color nail polish do i need for a french manicure?
    a sheer pink %26amp; white
to do a perfect manicure you're going to need a sheer or very light pink and a white. If you want it shiny, buy a top coat (clear nail polish). you'll also need a buffer for your nails to get them smoothe and also some olive oil. I dont know why you need olive oil but I just know it helps.
For a basic french manicure you will need three colours.

    Pale Pink

    White

    And a clear topcoat

Sometimes you can buy them together in a pack.
I'd say whie but if you do them at home and want them to stay on for a while u should get a hard acrylic coating!

I have an other way to do it. I have always had major problems with glitter nail polish too! After you are done using the fabric softener sheet from dryer, wrap a some cotton balls with it. It hold up much better than regular cotton balls and works great to get that glitter off. :-)

Most nail polishes have an acetone base. If the polish is still there, try acetone. If it is just the color stain, you may need bleach. Plan B would be to cover the carpet with a throw rug or a piece of furniture and cover the stain on your back pack with a school emblem. Good luck.I got nail polish on my carpet and backpack. how to get it off?
Go buy at Wal Mart or at Home Depot this stuff called '; Oops!'; in the paint dept. it removes, paint, lipstick, crayons, car paint if your car has been sprayed painted by vandalism., wine stains.....its damn good. If you cant find it ask a salesperson to help you out.
when you put the nail poslish remover on the carpet did you srub it?
i heard if you let shaving cream set on it, it will come off

Why does nail polish stick so well to toenails but not fingernails?

Just a random thing, but I painted my toes 3 months ago and just now removed the rest of the paint and redid them. But if I paint my nails, its gone in 2 days. Why does it stick so well to toes but not fingers? Why does nail polish stick so well to toenails but not fingernails?
same here but im guessing its because we do more stuff with your fingers than toes so it chips more easily.

i hate when that happens tho..lolWhy does nail polish stick so well to toenails but not fingernails?
Because you use your fingers so much for eveyrthing that they are guarenteed to chip, we don't use are toes really for anything. Also we can't play with are toes, but we can play with are fingers. I mean play by biting are fingers or just chipping them. We're using are fingers for everyday activities like typing, opening a can, scratching your skin, and much more

    i hope this helps!
it doesnt stick any better, you just dont do much with your feet. your hands and therefore fingernails are always holding things, grabbing things, going in and out of pockets/draws/bags etc... so the polish gets knocked off quicker
most probably its because we use our hands to do more stuff as opposed to our feet...the friction caused by everyday chores like doing dishes and things like that will cause nail polish to wear faster.
You use your hands more so than your toes. You use your fingers to type down on keyboard. Your toes don't do anything, besides walking.
I know what you mean but I reckon its cos we use our fingers more. And wash our hands more and just in general bash that polish up.

What color nail polish should I wear with a shimmery silver dress?

If i wear silver polish, would I be over doing it; would black polish be inappropriate for a wedding. I will most likely wear a smokey gray eyeshadow or maybe charcoal with neutral blush and lip gloss. What do you think...???What color nail polish should I wear with a shimmery silver dress?
I think a deep red color would be perfect. Some of my favorites come from Essie, a brand that most manicure places (and even some drug stores) carry. A rich blood red would be a great way to get a dark %26amp; sultry effect without the shock factor of black polish, if you're concerned about that for the wedding.

Here's a link to all of their red polishes; my favorites are A-List and Wicked (looks almost brown on the website, but it really a dark blood red):

    http://www.essieshop.com/index.php?cPath鈥?/a>

Also, OPI (another brand a lot of manicure places have) has a tool where you can see how each of their polish shades will look on your skintone (though some of the reds look more pink online than they do in person):

Another good color is Chanel's Shanghai Red.What color nail polish should I wear with a shimmery silver dress?
Get your nails done french style instead and leave them neutral with the white tip. I don't think black nails are nice anyway, so I don't think they are good for a wedding. Silver is good with anything other than silver. You could go with something bold but I think you should just get them done with french tips.
maybe black with black bag etc, jst remember if your going blood red kind of colour you need to think of accesories and black will go with any, and make it look like you've matched up on purpose, wheras if u only have red nails and then a diff colour bag etc it will look random?
If you would like to make a statement, then red.

If you would like to go casual because you have a statement dress already, then go clear, or a french manicure.

Wear either a clear polish or a opalescent type where you get the faintest hint of your natural nail colour coming through.

i think black is fine....everywhere i see black nail polish, but i would go for something bold like maroon or royal blue just the add color
Go for dark colors since you're already wearing a striking dress. Dark purple or a classic shade of red are subtle enough, they help emphasize your dress!
Blood red. With all the silver you need a splash of color somewhere to enhance the effect.
Dark blue or black, it wouldn't be inappropriate.
You could do a very pale pink- almost nude colour, and it'd look really classy and clean. Otherwise, I'd think black would look great.
are you trying to look prettier than the bride, tone it down.
I'd do a dark shimmery navy blue.
white or even black , electric blue could work , clear or french tip
    Red.

    jet black

  • Is there anything you can do when your nail polish gets all sticky?

I have a nail polish color I love but it's getting old so it's all sticky and hard to put on. Is there anything I can do to make it less sticky? Is there anything you can do when your nail polish gets all sticky?
No, don't us any remover, OR thinner in your polish. Why? Simple... It destroys the natural shine and luster of the polish. If you add these things to polish, you will end up with rather lackluster, dull looking polish. Who wants that on their nails? Not me!? Once it has thickened, you need to throw it away, and get yourself some new bottles of polish. I agree to a certain degree with the tech in that you need to keep the threads of the polish bottle clean, but further - use a thin coating of vaseline and spread it over the threads of the polish bottle. This will create an airtight seal so air will not be able to enter, thus thickening the polish over time, and it will make the bottle much easier to open should any polish get on the neck of the bottle and harden. And, keep the brush tightly sealed in the bottle at all times when not in use. Polish dries because various solvents are added to each bottle of polish. When these are exposed to the air, they evaporate. This is how the polish dries. That is the reason that right after applying polish it stinks pretty bad for a while until it fries, then the smell goes away. Well, its the solvents evaporating which you are smelling. So, each time you open that polish bottle, these solvents are evaporating into the air. Over time, it will harden. The trick isd to minimize the time that the polish in the bottle is open, and thus exposed to air. It has nothing to do with air being trapped in the bottle. Of course air gets trapped inside. This is inevitable. But, you can minimize the amount of air to which the polish is exposed to. Good luck!Is there anything you can do when your nail polish gets all sticky?
It sounds to me like you need to use nail polish thinner!! You can purchase some thinner at Sally Beauty Supply. You will need a dropper to dispense about 6 to 8 drops into the bottle. Make sure that you clean the neck of the bottle as nail polish build up will cause air to get into the bottle and thicken. Place the brush back into the bottle and roll it between your palms for a few minutes. If you notice the polish still seems too thick then you can add a few more drops. Just be careful not to add too much or you will break down the chemicals and the polish will end up peeling and chipping.

Always clean your nails with alcohol prior to using a base coat. This cleans all the oils from your nail plate and will make your polish last longer. Use a good base coat such as Creative's Stickey. Apply two coats of nail polish and then a good top coat such as Seche Vite. Your manicure will last you a good week!!

Just remember to use a top coat every other day or every second day to keep your mani looking marvelous!!
Although you can add things to make it thinner, you should get a new one. Not only is it sticky, but OLD POLISH CAN BE HARMFUL TO YOUR NAILS. Nail polish can be very cheap, so invest in a new bottle... It will be helpful for you.
you can pour a few drops of nail remover in the bottle and shake it up. That helps, but it's only temporary.

Once it starts getting old, there's not much to do but replace it.
yes, add a couple dropps on nail polish remover in it, and place it in the refrigerator when not in use[:

    great question!
No sweetie, go out and get a new one. If you can't get the same exact colour, you'll have to get something close.

What is the name of the clear stuff you put on your nails before putting the nail polish on?

I knw that you put something on before you put on tha colored nail polish. I actual nail polish is called nail enamel and the stuff you put on after that is the top coat. But what is the first clear stuff you put on?What is the name of the clear stuff you put on your nails before putting the nail polish on?
Base coat. It fills in any ridges and little imperfections that are in your nails before you apply the colored polish. Let it dry several minutes before you apply the color. Then, let your color dry too for several minutes. Then apply a light brushing of a top coat. Don't be in a hurry- take the time to dry each layer well. What is the name of the clear stuff you put on your nails before putting the nail polish on?
base coat, nail polish, top coat
it is called ';base coat';, it smoothes the nail surface, and helps the nail color stay on longer.it also prevents discoloration of your nails.

What nail polish can i use to make my nails grow faster and stronger?

Nail polishes don't directly make your nails grow faster but they do help to strengthen and protect them so that they don't break - so get a nail strengthener

Make sure you moisturize your hands and cuticles really well, I find that Burt's Bees is a really great cuticle cream or you can just rib olive oil into your cuticles before bed. Also, don't push back or cut your cuticles! The more time your body spends repairing some damaged tissue, the less resources and energy it uses to grow your nails.

Also, I would lay off excessive use of nail polish remover. It doesn't matter how much Vit. E and moisturizer the bottle says it has... it'll strip you nails dry of moisture.

P.S. Drink milk and take make sure you get Vitamin C - they both contribute to healthier nails and boneWhat nail polish can i use to make my nails grow faster and stronger?
Polish isn't going to help your nails grow faster. There are good fortifying nail strengtheners that you can use to help make them stronger but only time makes nails grow. What nail polish can i use to make my nails grow faster and stronger?
theres some by sally hansen and you can find them at any drugstore andd beauty salon (i think) and nail places
    Wet %26amp; Wild
Sea Kelt supplements also help with this (and make your hair grow faster too).
i agree with audry lol...is this anie by any chance? lmafo
The only thing that will allow your nails to actually grow stronger is eating a proper balanced diet with enough protein, the main building block of hair and nails. Nail polish will harden your nails, but can also cause your nails to be drier and more brittle, which in the long run can make them more prone to chipping and breaking. The best thing to do is to use a hand lotion regularly to moisturize your hands, nails, and cuticles. The healthier that your cuticles are, the healthier your nail growth will be. You should use hand lotion after each time you wash your hands. I also recommend an intensive cuticle oil or cream for night time moisturization. I use a product called TIPS, which is available from various televised shopping channels, or from their website askcosmetics.com. This increases the flexibility and lipid content of your nails, allowing them to bend and recover from stress as opposed to snapping off.

What's the best way to remove dried nail polish from a t-shirt?

My daughter brought me her tpshirt that has red nail polish on it, along with her blue jeans. any ideas on how ti get it out? What's the best way to remove dried nail polish from a t-shirt?
Cellulose paint thinners (as distinct from white spirit, etc),available from car accessory shops or auto paint suppliers will dissolve it (and NOT the T-shirt!). Work outside because it's a bit whiffy! Put the T-shirt in warm soapy water immediately afterwards. What's the best way to remove dried nail polish from a t-shirt?
Straight acetone(hardware store %26amp; mask), cotton balls, and paper towels. Cover your face with a respirator or a cotton mask (you'll look life a goof ball, but trust me on this one!). Soak a cotton ball in Acetone. Put the paper towels under the material that has polish on it. Dab the cotton ball on the paint until it has bled completely onto the paper towel. Launder ASAP
    throw the t-shirt out
well, first i would call or email the company that made the nail polish and ask for recommendations.

if i didn't get a useful answer, i would try removing it gently by patting the dried nail polish a lot using whatever regular nail polish remover you or she typically use to get that brand of nail polish off your fingernails.

    It may well be impossible.
the solvents mentioned above will probably disolve the polish, but if it's red, it will leave a pink stain no matter what you do. I'd chuck the clothes.

you could use goof off or just buy some paint and make your son paint the walls if hes old enough.
    remove the walls !!
remove it with nail polish remover and touch up the spot with white paint ...
non-acetone nail polish remover. depending on how old he is, make him paint his nails that color and keep them like that for a week!

Try using polish remover. Turn nail polish bottle upside down then soak a Q Tip and run it around the edge. Rinse it with hot water. Then open. What's the best way to open an old bottle of nail polish when the top is stuck?
wrap the top with rubber badn..s and then turn the top..
RUN HOT TAP WATER ON IT. IT WORKS FOR ME.
I have always used one of those rubber griper things used to open lids of jars--Their in with the kitchen utensils at wal-mart.
let it sit in the sink of warm wtr
    hot water
Channel-lock pliers -- they're those pliers where the handles and the ';jaws'; are tilted at an angle.

And in a pinch... a new bottle of nail polish is only a buck or two. Life's too short to screw around with stuck old nail polish bottles.
Run very hot water over the cap, trying NOT to heat up the glass . The plastic top should expand faster than the glass and poof it can be turned off it you act quick enough. BUT never ever use direct heat like a match or lighter. You want to keep those nails and fingers don't you?!
Throw them out.......the ingredients have probably expired, making them very ';thick'; and gooey!

You'll cause yourself more stress trying to salvage them....rather than buying some new ';trendy'; shades

    Good Luck
Soak them in hot water and after a few minutes extract each one of them and use a pair of pliers to twist the cap. Then clean the bottle threads.
BANG the stick part on the side of the countertop several times! Then soak it in nail polish remover for about 1 minute.

Just bought a 36 Watt nail lamp? How long do I put my nails under when drying normal nail polish?

Also would you reccomend putting suncream on my hands to prevent UV damage to my fingers? I only want to use the lamp to dry my nailpolish as I can never to my nails without accidentally scraping/chipping the polish off. How long do I hold them under for?

ThanksJust bought a 36 Watt nail lamp? How long do I put my nails under when drying normal nail polish?
    3-4 minutes

You should also apply UV topcoat.

How long should I wait before I apply another coat of nail polish on?

My first one is nail growth polish because I have short nails. The second one is just sally hansen's nude shimmer color. The third one is one to make it look shiny and to stop me from biting it. I bite my fingernails often, also, so what are some other tips to stop me from biting? How long should I wait before I apply another coat of nail polish on?
Years ago I used to bite my nails to the point of bleeding. I was always embarrassed. It's a nervous habit and one you CAN break with practice.

The thing is when you bite your nails, they are left with rough edges that often feel uncomfortable, which makes you want to bite the nails to smooth the edges and this only makes them worse.

Try applying artificial nails to keep them covered. When they look really nice chances are you'll be less likely to bite them.

That is what I did and it worked.

To break a habit, you just have to keep yourself from it.

Read this article on how you can apply your own artificial nails and maintain them yourself for less then twenty dollars.

Good luck to you!How long should I wait before I apply another coat of nail polish on?
Wait, do you use the Orly stuff that make your nails taste really bad? I heard the Mavala stuff is better. I usually wait about 5 minutes max inbetween coats, to make sure it is dry to prevent air bubbles. Maybe that is just because I don't want to have to do it over again. Here is a link for the malava and orly stop biting nails stuff.

Just think of other things besides biting. You don't need any prodeucts, just get rid of the habit.

** Answer my question please? **
You should taste your nail and if you taste the polish then they鈥檙e not dry enough to put the second coat.

How can I remove clear (nail hardener type) nail polish from a new prefinished oak wood floor?

This is definitely not a good answer, it does not remove the nail polish! Neither does Mr. Clean eraser (Must have been written by Mr. Clean Mfgs.)

The mineral spirits, or nail polish remover will take the finish up from your new floors.

The best bet, since it is clear, is to just let it wear off with time.

If it really bothers you, use some non acetone nail polish remover, and a q-tip. Just rub the nail polish very gently until just that spot is gone. You might cause a more noticeable spot is my only worry.

Does nail polish and nail polish remover dry your nails out?

Think ive damaged mine through wearing too much polish/leaving polish on for too long.

Nail is yellow. If i use nail polish remover on it to try and 'whiten' it will it make it worse? What can i use to help my nails recover?Does nail polish and nail polish remover dry your nails out?
Yes. Both dry out natural nails.

The yellow is just a stain from wearing a dark colored polish. It's not actual damage and it's not a big deal. It just looks odd.

Nail polish remover will not remove the yellow %26amp; a buffer is good but it's a challenge to get good results all along where the skin meets the nail.

Ajax or comet powder massaged gently into the nails will whiten them again. Depending upon how badly they are stained, lemon juice might suit just as well and is a little bit more gentle.

Next time, apply a thin coat (any brand) of 'baset' type polish to stear clear of stains, and a top coat of clear gloss polish will make them shine like diamonds and make it last longer before it all starts to chip at the edges.Does nail polish and nail polish remover dry your nails out?
You can get a buffer and try to buff out some of the yellow. Nail polish remover won't do anything. Leave the nail polish alone. It's not good when your nails turn yellow like that from constantly wearing nail polish.
Yes it will make it worse. Because not only will it stay yellow, by using nail remover it will look unhealthy too.

Try buying a nail moisturizer in your nearby pharmacy. By buying nail products it would really keep your nails healthy and nice. Hope this helps

Can I wash a towel that was used to clean up nail polish remover?

I wanted to know if its okay to put it in the washing machine despite being semi-soaked with the remover. Thanks. Can I wash a towel that was used to clean up nail polish remover?
The active and flammable ingredient in most of these is Acetone. If it is really soaking wet with it, hang it outside to dry before popping in the washing machine. If it's only damp, throw it straight in. Acetone is somewhat soluble in water and will be cleaned up in no time. Can I wash a towel that was used to clean up nail polish remover?
    yes it is
Sure just wash it alone or with other towels that you use for outside work.
I'm sure its ok, just wash it alone just in case the nail polish remover reacts with other clothes or towels. Soak it perhaps as well.
I have done it before-the towel was a little discolored afterward. I wouldnt wash it with any other clothes...just by itself :-)
Wash it in the sink by hand straight away and hang to dry. Chemicals like that are combustible and if left just sitting could catch fire.
Rinse it out several times in a bucket filled with clear water and the got ahead and wash it. DON';T USE BLEACH. Just wash it in regular detergent.
I would say no unless you are going to wash it by itself. If you put it in and wash it with other stuff there might be something which is synthetic such as nylon, rayon, polyester or something that the polish remover would eat a hole in.

You could probably wash it by hand with the hose or in the sink, let it air dry in the sun and then it would be all right to put in the washer.
Yes, but if you are worried about the chemicals, just rinse it out a bit in your shower/tub and then throw it in with everything else.

What brand of nail polish has a really bright, pinkish-orangeish nail color?

I want it to be super-bright, and orange to be the dominant color, but still somewhat pink. I don't want any sheerness at all, and I'd prefer it to be available at target. If you could give me the name of the brand and the name of the color that'd be great!

thanks! What brand of nail polish has a really bright, pinkish-orangeish nail color?
O.P.I. would have that color, you can find it at more high end places, but if you are looking for drugstore (or target) nail polish i would look for Milani, they have all kinds of bright colors, sheer and flat. I cant give you a name, but its more than likely you'll find something.
